Tyagaraja Aradhana is the annual aradhana (a Sanskrit term meaning act of glorifying God or a person) of Telugu saint composer Tyagaraja. The festival is observed in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, primarily in Tiruvaiyaru, the place where Tyagaraja attained Samadhi. The aradhana is observed on Pushya Bahula Panchami day when the saint attained samadhi, where the musicians will render the saint’s Pancharatna Kritis.
Outside Inda – Tyagaraja aradhana is an annual feature in the U.S. (Cleveland), also it took place for the first time in the Netherlands.
Presented by Madras Chorus, the event was held at Sri Arunachaleswara Temple in Beverwijk, 30 km off Amsterdam.
Around 40 vocalists and percussionists participated in the programme.
On the occasion, maestro Umayalpuram Sivaraman congratulating the team and conveying his blessings was screened. He suggested that the event should be made an annual affair.
Every year from December 15th to January 15, a large number of musicians, especially Classical musicians from all over Tamil Nadu, India and abroad congregate in Chennai. They include renowned artists and beginners who have trained under able Gurus in the field of Music. In the Netherlands we celebrate between 15th till 23rd December this year 2018 and would like to continue every year.
This Netherlands Carnatic Music Festival which is a celebration of South Indian music and dance, specifically the Carnatic Music, will be held in the city of The Hague this December.
This festival will be organized by Madras Chorus in association with The Embassy of India. A festival which promises to bring the Margazhi Madras to The Hague, this December.
